Role Playing is Easy
Role playing is easy. All of us have been doing it all our lives, so why wouldn't it be easy? Imagine you just won the lottery. How do you feel? ..... You just role played.
It's generally easier to role play if you either:
The former is the easiest for most players, but it may require more thought on the part of the Gamemaster (i.e., the person running the game).
If you let them, the characters do all the work. Hey, they may even create a web presence. For example, in this domain, see:

This site contains a write up of a role playing session, The Zzarians - First Contact, in which people played themselves. They played themselves with no difficulty.
There is also a set of rules for a game called FateRole in which people choose their own characters. FateRole is very easy to play. And you can play it more or less any place, anytime, and (if needed) in a very short interval. After you have played FateRole once, with just a minute or two of briefing, you'll likely be able to then run a game.
