A Very Good Book :) :) :) :) of 5

"The Mezonic Agenda" is a clearly written, fast paced novel about a plot to manipulate the vote in a presidential election.

The protagonist is Chad Davis, a computer science professor who is a leading expert on software security. He is scheduled to testify before a Congressional committee on the electronic voting system which is about to be used for the upcoming Presidential election.

His own research has led him to think that the system will be secure. However, a CD he comes into possession of under peculiar circumstances makes him wonder.

The CD is included with the book. So you can hack along with Chad Davis while he tries to uncover the secrets of the CD.

Some reasons you might want to read this book are

  • You love a good adventure story.
  • You love to hack.
  • You are interested in learning more about software security.
  • You want to learn more about voting systems and electronic voting systems in particular.

Some reasons you might not want to read this book are

  • You very much prefer novels that are focused on subtle character development.
  • You abhor technical explanations regardless of how clearly they are written.
  • You are not interested in software security at all.
  • You've made up your mind that electronic voting is secure and that's that.

I found the book engaging and informative and well worth reading.
