Regular Meetings

Oakland.pm had monthly meetings from November 2002 through December 2005 at some location in or near Oakland. A typical meeting consisted of some combination of:

• introductions
• giveaways
• talks (from lightning to much longer), discussion
• short reports
• planning of our future.

Lightning talks are common among Perl groups. For more about lightning talks, see "What's a Lightning Talk?".

Special Meetings

Starting in 2006, the plan has been to have meetings only when there is a specific reason to.

Outings

We've been having informal outings to LinuxWorld and MacWorld in San Francisco. We've been meeting at the O'Reilly booth and improvising from there.

East Bay Beer Sig

Closely related to Oakland.pm is the East Bay Beer Sig which meets sporadically (but not recently).
