Read the Notice to the right before continuing.

Oakland Perl Mongers is a small informal Perl users' group that meets from time to time in Oakland, California and nearby cities. Anyone interested in Perl is welcome.

You are invited to get involved. This is a place to learn more Perl, and to do who knows what.

Notice

This site is inactive (and is not being maintained). The group coordinator of Oakland.pm resigned. He looked for a replacement but did not find one.

So far (as of 2008-05-09), no one has offered to take on the coordinator function.

Acknowledgements

Thanks to Larry Wall and the many others who have helped to make Perl and the Perl Culture what it is today.

Thanks to Perl Mongers for providing a mailing list, web space and a listing for our group. Thanks in particular to Wayne Walker for all his help in getting us started.

Thanks also to the Perl Mongers groups that helped us out in one way or another when we were getting started including: local groups Monterey.pm, Sonoma.pm & SanFrancisco.pm and also CostaRica.pm, Israel.pm and London.pm.

The Linux community has been helpful from the beginning. Thanks, in particular, to Rick Moen, especially for his incisive essay on what is needed for a successful Linux user group.

We are pleased to be a member of the O'Reilly User Group Program from which we receive many benefits. Thanks especially to Marsee Henon.
