The
Hungry Airplane

big plane chasing
the piper cub

Once upon a time there was a very big airplane. One day he was especially hungry because he had not even had one gallon of gas all day long. So he flew into the air looking for an airport where there might be gas. However, it was a very cloudy day with long fluffy clouds and a lot of mist. So he could not see at all well, and he found no airport and no gas.

Just as he was about to give up he heard a small piper cub airplane. He began to chase the piper cub which frightened it. He thought if he caught the piper cub and ate it he would be less hungry.

BRUM! BRUM! BRUM! VAROOM! VAROOM! they went. The piper cub kept doing tricks to get away. The piper cub said to the big airplane: "Whatever do you want?" And the big plane said: "I am very hungry, so I am going to eat you up as soon as you run out of gas. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"

To this the piper cub said: "But you yourself will run out of gas first. That is why you are hungry. Besides, planes cannot eat planes, silly! Dummy! Stupid!" Then the piper cub smiled and said: "I'll take you to my airport where you can get some gas."

They went together to the airport. After that the piper cub and the big airplane were friends. They had a big party at which all the airplanes chased each other and did loop to loops. And they all laughed at how silly the big airplane had been. After all, airplanes can't eat airplanes. Whoever heard of that? Not me.
