Family Gathering

The Basic Idea

The basic idea is to have a family gathering of Woolleys and Bolles. By Woolleys I mean descendents of Herbert and Marion Woolley. By Bolles I mean descendents of Blair and Mona Bolles. Oh, and spouses too.

The time and place? Somewhere around 2005. Likely in California, somewhere not too far from Oakland. Who knows, perhaps someone will create a similar gathering on the East Coast.

The Original Email

The following is the text of the original email from Kathleen Romero proposing a family gathering in 2005. It was sent to Woolley family members and Bolles family members for whom Kathleen had email addresses.

Hey Y'all -

In 1969 Great Aunt Kathleen gave me 'A Child's Garden of Verses' by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was given to her by Blair Bolle's grandmother in 1906. Inscribed inside she suggested that on the books centennial we should have a party. It will be here in a few more years.

I've been thinking - in honor of the book, and our family we should hold a humdinger of a wing ding. I think it would be fun to have a gathering of the clans. The descendants of Herbert George Woolley and Marion Claire Ruddy have gotten a little scattered. The Bolle's are an essential part of this event since we have had a long history together.

I have little experience of something of this magnitude - So what do you think? A poll of when and where - This email is going out to at least one individual of the 5 branches(Marion, Herbert, Diane, George & Bolle's). Please send me email addresses, or pass this information along to others within the family, so that I can gather contact information and then we can go from there.

with Much Love -

The Family Tree

In preparation for and in support of this gathering, I am putting together a family tree for the St. Omer Woolleys. Thanks to inputs from Kathleen Romero, Marion Steinfels, and Sabrina Woolley, I have fairly good information on all four branches of the family.

The family tree is not on the web because several people expressed privacy concerns (including identity theft) to Kathleen.
