Clare has been a professional painter since 1978. She is most noted for her watercolors, which are surprisingly rich. She also works with acrylics and oils. Her subjects vary over a wide range, Einstein, drapes, the desert, etc. Her works have been exhibited in California, Colorado, Florida and Ohio, as well as in Paris, France.
Clare began creating computer art in 1988. She has, in some cases, scanned in photos of her works and manipulated them with this media. But mostly she has created new vibrant works using the mouse as her paint brush. She has learned Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & Premier, Corel Draw & Photo-Paint, Macromedia Director, QuarkXpress, Pagemaker, Microsoft PowerPoint, Dreamweaver and Flash. In addition, some of her animated gifs can be seen at Blue Octagon Gallery.
Central to Clare's art is the art of inspiring the expression of art in others. She was a watercolor instructor through Denver Free University. (1980-1982) She was the computer artist for interactive educational software programs at Glajean Editions in Paris, France. (1988-1991) She assisted with art projects for inner city youth with SONG, Supporting Our Next Generation. (summer 1994) She was guest artist for the children's art project at the Ohio Historical and Preservation Society. (January 1997) She taught digital art to high school students in Campbell, Ohio. (January-June 1997) She taught Flash animation to children during two summer programs at Mills College, Oakland. (2000, 2002)
Her vision is of public schools transformed into holistic educational environments, where among other things QLIC art is taught. "Each student will be accepted as an individual, precious and unique." They will be aided in removing conditioning so that they may express art that speaks to the present and transmutes into a vision of our future world. The resulting integration of each artist will be "a spiritual gift to all who feel the energy of creation." Clare's vision for schools was presented as her MA project at JFK University: "New Schools for a New Millennium".
Her dream includes an environmentally friendly community where organic food can be grown, where people can come to experience sacred retreat, and where she collaborates with others in her work.
Her sacred intention is: (1) to help inspire a new paradigm envisioning children as central to humanity's evolution, (2) to create a living space within community conducive to her work, and (3) to finish the creation of her interactive, educational website (for children and young people) promoting a Quantum Leap In Consciousness.
